New Ultra Sensitive BetaMark™ Beta Amyloid ELISA Assays
x-40 BetaMark ELISA
x-42 BetaMark ELISA
Covance’s two new BetaMark ELISA kits for beta amyloid x-40 and x-42, offer researchers ultra sensitive tools for investigating the diagnostic and therapeutic value of these two beta amyloid peptides. Alzheimer’s is a disease that presently affects over five million people, a number that is expected to quadruple over the next fifteen years. There is no known cure and diagnosis can only be confirmed post mortem. Cerebrovascular deposition of beta amyloid protein is a common pathologic event in Alzheimer’s disease and certain related neurodegenerative disorders, and there is compelling evidence that the c-terminal cleavage point of beta amyloid determines the aggregation potential of the peptide.
Covance offers a range of new discover tools in the field of Alzheimer’s/Parkinson’s and other Neurodenerative diseases. These include antibodies against the gamma secretase complex, synucleins, NMDA receptor, tau, phosphorylated tau’s and Amyloid beta. Covance’s Neuronal Class III β-Tubulin monoclonal TUJ1 and polyclonal antibodies and Tyrosine Hydroxylase are recognized as key standards for marking neuronal cells.
With the acquisition of Signet Laboratories in 2006, Covance added to this repertoire with the gold standard 4G8 and 6E10 amyloid beta and the 3F4 Prion antibodies (offered exclusively through Covance). We also offer subunit specific antibodies to the acetylcholine receptors and SNARE machinery.
